A Minerva exclusive, this gorgeous design is printed onto the most wonderful quality sweater knit base cloth. Sweater knit is a loosely knitted fabric that gives the feel of a hand knitted garment. It is stretchy, soft and still has a good amount of drape for quite a thick fabric. It is made from 91 percent recycled polyester, 7 percent rayon and 2 percent elastane fibres, which gives it a 70 percent stretch across the width (from selvedge to selvedge) and a 20 percent stretch down the length of the fabric. It is soft, beautiful to touch and will barely crease in your day to day wardrobe. We think it is the perfect transitional fabric for when you need extra layers but don't want to be too warm. It is the perfect choice for sewing cosy tops, dresses, sweaters, cardigans, skirts and more. At 210 grams per square metre, this fabric is classed as a medium weight, even though it is quite thick and cosy. The fabric is opaque and will not require lining. We recommend sewing this fabric with a new ballpoint needle for best results. Please note, designs on this base cloth print with a softer, more muted colour palette and the threads that create this knitted fabric come through the design, giving the fabric a gorgeous, slightly marl effect. This fabric is POD (printed on demand), so please allow extra time for delivery. Once you place an order for POD fabric, our team will carefully print your chosen design, on your chosen base cloth, to your chosen size, with care. We pride ourselves on quality of materials, quality of printing and fast turnaround. Because your fabric is made to order specially for you, please allow approximately 2-6 weeks for despatch of your order that contain POD fabric, however our turnaround is often much quicker.
